Black River Falls
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2016
In Black River Falls By Jeff Hirsch, Cardinal Cassidy is a 17 year old, high school student, hiding from the virus that has hit his town. All by himself in the woods, Cardinal is hiding, afraid of getting affected. He finds himself befriending an old bully named Greer who comes with a group of kids. Cardinal is the only person, beside the guards, who isn't affected by this virus that left everyone else without their memories. Through out the book, he refers back to what happened the night the virus hit a year ago. The only problem a year ago is that there is no known cure for and how he could be affected easily. Cardinal can leave but will he actually leave his town or figure out what actually went down the night the virus hit Black River Falls?
Hirsch pulls you into the book and this book will never let go. As the story progressed, I felt like I was there the entire time and I literally stayed up late to finish this book. I was always curious of what Cardinal and his friends were going to do next
