Emily For Real by Sylvia Gunnery

Joanna, 15
Sylvia Gunnery
Emily For Real
Pajama Press 2013

Emily For Real is about family, friend relationship. She have many friend Leo, Jenn, Meredith and Jacob.  She was sad when she found out someone adopted her. That will be nice to know the truth.  The family she lived with like her.  Her mother gave her letter and she read.  She cryed.  Her mother comforted her.  In the back of the book have question for discussion and was excellent because I never see book like that.  I recommend this book for someone who like about life, friendship, and family relationship.

A Death Struck Year by Makiia Lucier

Makiia Lucier
A Death Struck Year
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt March 4, 2014

A Death Struck Year is an amazing book about the Spanish Influenza.  A page turner from the very beginning, I was caught up in the book.  Cleo Berry is a very brave person, volunteering for the Red Cross to help people with the Influenza when she can just as easily catch it.

A Death Struck Year is probably my favorite book so far.  Read it, and you won't be able to stop.

It was a good book. I loved the fantasy in it.  It tied together a lot of fairy tales and was very interesting and captivating.
