Harper Teen 2013
Feedback snagged me and had my nose buried inside the pages until I finished. It was intriguing for every minute: wondering what Benson was going to do or gasping as sudden twists of the story completely altered your prospective. Also, I loved the fact that the plot had no weird jumps in logic that sequels seem to display when the author goes for a new twist to keep the story fresh; In contrast, the book felt well planned out with all the ways it referenced from the knowledge gained in Variant while expanding it and showing another side of the program looming over Maxfield Academy. On the other hand, this is NOT a stand-alone novel. Within the first sentence you need to know what happened in the first book and who everyone is.
