Belle's Song
Walker & Company 2011

Belle, daughter of a Bellfounder, is used to jabs about her name.  She is worried about other matters, however.  Belle's father was crippled by a bell falling from the steeple it was to be hoisted into.  Though he survived the incident, he was unable to work.  When a group on pilgrimage to Canterbury goes through town, Belle joins it in hope that it will heal her father's legs.  This was a great book I would recommend for its wonderful development of character and great plot twists.  Belle is a very relatable character, and her quirks such as counting in threes help develop her relatable nature.
Rating: 4 Better than most
