Liyana has been trained her entire life to die.   She is a vessel, the girl raised for her body, just as the goats her clan gets their name from are raised for meat.  When Liyana does the summoning dance her goddess will inhabit her body and her soul will pass into the dreaming.  But when Liyana dances she doesn't die, the summoning ceremony has failed.  Her clan abandons her and she is left to certain death alone in the desert.  Then a boy appears out of the sand, claiming to have been searching for her.  Romance, action, heartbreak, and magic weave themselves into a breathtaking story that will have you hooked from page one to the final word.
