Rikers High is the story of a teenager that is in prison even though it isn't his fault. Throughout the book Martin, the teen in trouble, is switched from his prison house to another and has to deal with new people and a new territory. This is a good read because it the troubles in the book and the problems with the kids are very realistic. This book could be read by guys or girls but there are no girls in the story and the characters don't think very nice thoughts about girls so maybe not. A problem with this book that really bugs me is that there are a lot of bad words in this book because they are in prison and I was going to stop reading it because of this but I wanted to finish the Martin's prison story. I think that the author could tone the language down a bit to make the book more enjoyable and comfortable.
