The Trouble With Chickens
HarperCollins     2010

In the Trouble With Chickens, I found it to be a provocative young reader's book. The main character, J.J Tully, was a former search-and-rescue dog that found himself on a dry, hot farm in an unknown state. He was placed there after years of rescuing people and met a chicken named Millicent. This chicken had heard the word that J.J. had a knack for finding lost people and animals. She was interested in paying him to find her two "lost" chicks, Poppy and Sweetie. Shortly into the investigation, a note is left by the mysterious chick napper. Will the missing chicks be discovered before all four of them go missing? Two unlikely subjects join together to find what is important to them and end up having a wild adventure filled with drama, betrayal, laughs and action. Find out what happens next in The Trouble With Chickens.

Rating: 5 Hard to imagine a better book
